Dr. Hubert Shuo Zhang, TCMD, M.D.(China), Ph.D., Visiting Professor
Dr. Zhang is from Medical College of Tsingtao University, where he works as a pharmacologist, TCM physician and senior instructor directing Chinese & international students. In 1994, he began with his 11 years systematic study of TCM and western medicine in Chengdu University of TCM. His undergraduate major is clinical TCM with specialty in Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology of TCM. He earned his Master’s Degree in TCM ophthalmology in 2002 and his Medical Doctorate Degree in pharmacology of Chinese materia medica in 2005. He is engaged in development of herbal medicines, and communication of TCM and western medicine theory. He published 39 academic articles, and several translated academic publications. He is currently Board Member of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, Executive Editor of Journal of Progress in Modern Biomedicine, Member of Chinese Pharmacological Society, and Associate Director of Medicines R & D Base in Tsingtao University.
Since 1992,Dr. Zhang had followed TCM masters and started his professional life as TCM doctor in 1996. He is one of the descendant and representative of Li’s TCM style originating in ancient Chongqing city, which is well-known for ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, dermatology, gynecology and meridian therapy since 19th century. He has developed series of effective treatments with special TCM techniques, for diseases such as ocular fundus diseases(diabetic retinopathy, central retinal vein occlusion, senile macular degeneration, pigmentary degeneration of retina, optic atrophy,etc.), iridocyclitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, dacryocystitis, Meniere’s disease, chronic pharyngitis, chronic rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, nasosinusitis, aphonia, refractory eczematosis, urticaria, cancer, diabetics, mental disorder, menstrual disorder, climacteric syndrome, cerebral stroke, hemiplegia, progressive spinal muscular atrophy, etc.
