Dr. Maya Krayem is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine registered with
the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta. She holds a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine
and Acupuncture diploma from the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CITCM)
and a Bachelor’s degree in Acupuncture and Moxibustion from Chengdu University of
Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she completed a five-month clinical residency across
specialties including gynecology, gastroenterology, and pain management. Dr. Krayem also
serves as Clinic Coordinator and Safety Officer at CITCM, where she supports student interns in
developing their clinical skills, reflecting her passion for sharing the medicine she so deeply
believes in.

Her path into medicine began at home. Growing up alongside a sister living with a
developmental disability, Maya saw how complex health concerns can leave people feeling like
a collection of symptoms rather than a whole person. Watching her sister thrive with traditional
medicine, she discovered her calling: to help others feel whole again.

Dr. Krayem has a particular interest in gynecology and women’s health, digestive health, and
mental health, and also treats pain, injury, and sleep concerns. Her treatments may include
acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, electroacupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, tui
na, and lifestyle and dietary guidance. Outside the clinic, you’ll find her with family, on forest
trails, by the ocean, or at home with her cats.
